If you are using Alpha Ceramica diamonds, they should work fine.
Try using your granite powder with Crystallizer (no water) and #0 steel wool. Wet to dry over and over until you get the desired pop.
Not sure how they managed to scratch porcelain but it will be the same roughly as above. It will take longer as a quality porcelain is actually harder than granite.
