Yes, because it was originally organic, treat like onyx or similar stone. Do a test with your favorite marble polish after any required honing (hone to at least 1800g). If it seems acid sensitive, try the Granite Gloss paste from M3 that is a tin oxide based polish which works well on all granite and similar stone as well as acid sensitive metamorphic stone.
