They will have more problems with coating lifting off the surface and turning white. The coating will not stop the mold and mildew. You can seal with an impregnating sealer and then can once a month mix bleach and water 30% solution of bleach to the water and spray down on the stone allow to dwell for 10 minutes, then rinse off with a hose. This will keep the mold and mildew off the surface. The fact that the stone is sealed with an impregnator the water will dry off the surface faster thus reducing the mold and mildew.
