Could be excess sealer, minerals/salts, soap/conditioner or all of the above in the open pores of the stone. Try some acid cleaner in a small area to see if it will remove the contaminants. If not, you could hone and reseal as you mentioned.

It was Cleaned and Color Enhanced over a year ago. I don't believe there was any efflorescence. This time the tech used a regular sealer not an enhancing sealer and it is very possible he sealed it too soon.
Is there a way to fix it? Could we hone it down and then apply the enhancer?
